Oxford Academy

Oxford Academy, sometimes referred to as Oxford High School or OA, is a public high school located in Cypress, California. It serves grades 7-12 as part of the Anaheim Union High School District.

As of 2020, the school is ranked as #2 for the best high schools in the state of California by U.S. News & World Report, as well as #19 for the best U.S. high schools.

OA is a 7th through 12th grade college preparatory public school that opened in September of 1998. Recognized as a California Distinguished School, OA draws students from the entire attendance area of the Anaheim Union High School District. Oxford’s current enrollment is 1,277 students. The ethnic composition of the student body is 3% African American, 61% Asian, 8% Caucasian, 7% Filipino/Pacific Islander, 20% Latino, and 1% Native American. 43% of OA students come from economically disadvantaged homes. 68% of Oxford students come from homes in which English is not the primary language with 33 different languages spoken.

All OA students participate in a comprehensive honors curriculum and are required to enroll in a minimum of four Advanced Placement (AP) courses to graduate. The amount of AP courses students can take is limited in 9th and 10th grades. Last year, graduates were academically prepared for college/university with over 95% of them meeting the minimum University of California (UC) eligibility requirements.
